Scotland Referendum
« on: September 16, 2014, 11:18:29 PM »
Buckle up and get ready, chaps; it's going to be a close one.

CURRENT POLLS (Via UKPR)
Panelbase (online) 49%
ICM (phone) 49%
TNS (face to face) 49%
YouGov (online) 48%
ICM (online) 48%
Opinium (online) 48%
Survation (online) 48%
Survation (phone) 46%

All are %s of Yes support.

So a tiny No lead seems to be the consistent picture at the moment...

we should have a exilian poll on it!

Also it seems a tad ridiculous that Scotland's independence could be decided by such a small difference, it could come down to but a few hundred votes
Tis but a scratch...

Should've been more like a 60% or 2/3 threshold for a constitutional change of this magnitude I think, especially since we didn't get a vote south of the border.

Poll is up :)

At least they have the option to simply vote themselves out.

Also RE the braveheart speech, John Oliver hit that nail on the head: "Because nothing screams 'Scottish Freedom' like a millionaire Australian anti-Semite on horseback..."

Our poll won't be accurate since CC would be our only native Scot, unless I'm mistaken?

Yeah, it's our opinion rather than Scotland's :P

I think Pentagathus probably gets a vote, though, as he's studying in Aberdeen (voting for this is based on residency not on birthplace).

Basically I'm just sick of the SNP lying their asses off and knowing that by the time the UK govt actually calls their bluff it could be too late.

No, they'll at most leave the United Kingdom - Scotland can't leave the British Isles short of a lot of complex engineering.  :P

They only need state that they no longer consider themselves British and prefer to be called Scots and only Scots.

I'm currently canvassing for the "Meh" campaign. And by canvassing I mean sitting here doing roughly portugal all and not worrying either way.
I don't know what to make of the polls, it seems to me that nationalists are much more likely to vote in them than people who will be voting no for the safe bet.
I'd laugh my tits off if shetland opt out of an independent scotland.
